Intensity
Some people think intensity means "oh, that was intense homework" or "that was intense gym".
But don't get me wrong it means that too, but intensity also is an element of design. intensity means a shade or degree of brightness a colour. Intensity can be bright, radiant, strong, vivid, weak and also dull.

Tone/Value
Tone and value are totally different things one is light and one is dark. Tone and value is like night and day because tone and value can be stark, gloomy, dark, dull and can also be strong and weak.

Colour
Colour is beautiful, fantastic, and is apart of our everyday lives. So there's no reason why for colour not to be in our lives! Colour has many names such as hue, tint, tone and shade of colour. There are primary colours, cool colours and warm colours. Tone and intensity are key factors in colour, so are different shades of colours. colour can be bright, warm, cool, pastel in harmony and discordant.
Texture
Texture, texture is one of my favourite elements of design. I mean just look at that picture of an rhinoceros the drawing makes the skin of the rhinoceros it looks amazing and real! I just want to reach out and touch it! Texture is surface quality, the texture can be real or or simulated. Texture can be shiny,
smooth, rough, coarse, gritty, and also granular.
Form
From happens when a 3-dimenstional quality has
drawn and/or sculpted. Ok, should I speak english?
Alright, form is basically 3-dimensitional form that
also has shadow to show the viewer that the drawing
and/or sculpture is 3-dimenstional. Form can be
rounded, squared, angular, textural, with volume/mass.
Shape
Shape how can I possibly explain shape. I know
what your thinking like in grade 1 when you
learned the shapes like circles or triangles. No,
I'm saying beautiful shapes like sculptures. There
are solid shapes like the moon, organic like nature,
repeated like a pattern, symbolic like a cross and
proportional like the popular yin yang. shape can
be described as a 2-dimensional, open or closed,
with the optional tone or shadow.

Lines
A line may seem simple at first,
but when you use lines in a unique way
they can turn into something beautiful.
When you look at this line drawing by an artist
out of New Orleans some people can see just lines,
but I see a piece of art. Basically a line just starts out
with a dot and when you start moving your pencil
along it will turn into something amazing if you really
work hard on it. Lines can be jagged/smooth, thick/thin,
curved/straight, horizontal/diagonal and implied.
I know lines may not seem that 'cool' or whatever,
but lines symbolize direction like a road sign,
suggest mood and outline shapes and
many objects.
Emphasis
Emphasis is a visual point in the the centre or interest in an picture, drawing, painting etc. When you look at this picture of an eye the focal point is the pupil in the photograph, and the rest of the eye is dull. Emphasis has both subordination and dominance to call attention the the centre of the picture.
Contrast
Contrast implies juxtaposition and qualities that re unlike one another. Contrast can be emphasized, dramatized, add surprise and lots of variety and this creates high contrast. Contrast can be used to settle, soothe, comfort and harmonize and that creates low contrast. Contrast has opposition, and juxtaposition
Balance
Balance is not the kind of balance that you preform in gymnastics when you walk on the platform or tightrope. The balance I'm talking about is artistic balance. Artistic balance otherwise known as balance, is various items that involve a sense of form or order. Form and/or order can be symmetrical like a road I have shown above, formal, asymmetrical, random and radical.
Unity
Unity is a sense of oneness or being one in the picture. Which means the pictures elements work together, like in the picture above the trees and the snow go together beautifully with the sunset. When a picture has elements that do not work together it just looks odd, so if there was a picture of the moon with a flower on top of the moon it doesn't work. the whole picture needs to be balanced. Unity produces completeness, order and harmony. if the picture was like the moon and the flower I described
would have had disorder, dissonance, disharmony and/or incompleteness.
Pattern
When I think of patterns I think of math in grade 2 when they told to make a patten with red and yellow tiles. But pattern is one of the principles of design. So basically a pattern can be organized or unified the object to make visual enrichment, and a pattern can be completely random in any fashion.
Movement
Movement is easy to created by manipulated the limbs or elements to create motion. When you look at this amazing drawing of a horse running, you see that the artist has been able to recognize the exact movement and/or action. Movement can also start with non-representational traits such as broken edges, graduation of tones and diagonal lines. To create movement you have to recognizable images in action, abstract, non-representational marks and image in action and representational marks.
